I hate cancelled shows...

Mainly because I was in the mood for more Rufus Sewell after starting to watch ITV's Victoria, where he plays a completely historically inaccurate but ridiculously brooding and sexy Lord Melbourne, I stumbled across a short-lived show he was in called Eleventh Hour. I think I vaguely recall hearing about it when it first aired, back in 2008 - ( Read more... )

That show sounds intriguing but where were you able to get episodes? I hate shows I'm into getting canceled but that's not the same thing at all.

Various...nerfarious sources. It took a bit of hunting and I'm missed four or five out of 18, sadly.

I'm not sure which is worse, a show being cancelled whilst you're really into it, or getting into it after it's already cancelled and knowing from the off there'll never be any more.

Oh, I had missed that Rufus Sewell is in Victoria. I had planned to watch it anyway, but now I feel even more keen to do so.

I liked Eleventh Hour and was quite miffed we only got one season.

He is very swoon-worthy in Victoria. They've invented quite the romance between Melbourne and Victoria, which is quite amusing in many ways, because you find yourself going 'ditch this Albert bloke, Vicky, he's not the one you want!' and desperately hoping they'll go so far as to utterly rewrite history. Which...yeah. No.

Sounds a bit odd considering that Victoria seemed to be quite into Albert. But I'm all for swwon-worthy Rufus! :)

More than a bit into him - she spent half her life in mourning for him after he died. So yeah, a bit of an historical inaccuracy there, LOL!

I hope you can find the rest of the episodes. I tend to fall for closed series all the time... at least there's not the worry about 'will it be cancelled?' because I already know...

It's worth checking out, if you can find it. I'm really enjoying it, and I can't see why it got canned - it's good!

Reporting for Lord M worship duty ma'am!!!

It's horribly amusing how engaging I find the character when the real Lord M was... well quite different. Also 40 years older than Victoria at the time. But good Lord he's scrumptious!!! Of course considering what we know of the actual Lord M's life we are like a tidal wave away from a flood of spanking fics!

And of course now I have to see Eleventh Hour. This is funny to me, cause I had the whole season once, a friend gave them to me with the instruction to watch, but my hard driver crashed and I lost some series. I find myself having to dl it again.

He is delicious as Lord M, isn't he? Of course, the real Lord Melbourne was fat, riddled with gout, 40 years older than Victoria, his son was an adult before he died, and he wasn't riddled with grief over his wife, since she was a bit of nutjob who was obsessed with Lord Byron and ran off and left Lord M. But, you know, *handwaves*...minor details when you've got Rufus Sewell being brooding and sexy.

I think that I always found Rufus Sewell to be raggedly handsome, but in this role he has taken this to the next level. It's a combination of the whole restraint thing and of course his voice. I now find myself wondering if I should get the audio books he has done, hmmmm.

Of course playing evil guys at times is kinda... sad. I have "The man in the high castle" on my to watch schedule and I just don't know.

(why yes, I am gonna watch all the old series. Most of them. Some of them)

Also *handwaves* FTW!!! Especially with stodgy historical figures.

I do remember correctly that you like Alexander Hamilton? Didn't he play the character in John Adams?
