Can I just say how weird it feels to be talking about The Magnificent Seven and yet not be talking about Chris and Vin? Weird as, people.

I saw the movie today and I totally get what you're saying about the character development. I also kept wondering if Denzel's name, Chisum was a shout out to the old TV series.

They really were some beautiful horses they cast, right?

Yeah, lots of action but so much was very predictable. It was entertaining but I was disappointed that they waited so long to use the Mag7 theme music. I kept waiting for it. The nostalgic lettering was nice but they missed the mark with the theme music.

Yeah, normally when characters die I'm a blubbering wreck but I was left completely unmoved here. And to me, if that's the case then the movie's failed, because if you don't get caught up in the story and find yourself caring about what happens, then what's the point? And it meant their sacrifice didn't mean much, it didn't have any nobility and pathos, because they were barely men at all, barely characters, just...passing shadows, to quote the Bard.
