Some small consolation...

So our next Prime Minister is going to be a woman - either Theresa May and Andrea Leadsom. That's something, at least. Of course, they're both Evil Tories, so it's not much of a consolation, but it's a victory for women, so I'll take it. Of the two I'd rather Theresa May - at least she was a Remain supporter ( Read more... )

They're both horrible fix-hunting supporters, just like DC. I think Leadsom is marginally worse, in that she ACTUALLY hunts, and didn't vote in favour of gay marriage.

Yes, it does seem odd that it's more likely to be the evil conservatives - you'd think liberal left-wing parties would be more likely to have more women in positions of power. Just goes to show that politics in general is still a man's game, left or right wing!

Given what's happened in the aftermath, I'm surprised that there are still Leave people are still acting like this is a good thing . . .or even talking.

Also, how awesome would it be if (and by if I mean WHEN) Hillary Clinton wins the election, and we have that first meeting between a female US President and a female UK Prime Minister
