I didn't have an emotional connection  to David Bowie but this Alan Rickman news makes me want to just cry. It sucks indeed.

Me too - my main connection to Bowie was via Labyrinth, he was never a major figure for me musically growing up. So I was sad, but not so much. But Alan Rickman? He's been one of my favourite actors forever...
