There's upbeat pop Christmas songs and slow melancholy Christmas songs. There's Christmas carols and Christmas hymns. You've got your Christmas blues and your Christmas crooners. There are songs that have nothing to do with Christmas at all but because they were hits at Christmas-time they're Christmas songs

My favorites are the faster-paced, more old-timey sounding ones, like "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" (which unfortunately NEVER gets played here, even in church, to my everlasting bitternessbitterness and chagrin) and "Carol of the Bells."
