There are always friending memes floating around - we must save LJ from this slow rot, drag people back kicking and screaming from Tumblr and Dreamwidth if necessary! - and they always seem to be either generic or focused around a particular fandom. favourite author: Toss-up between Pat Conroy and Sharon Penman for fiction, Ian Mortimer for non-fiction (history)
favourite book series: I don't really read much fiction, so either Harry Potter or Sharon Penman's Welsh trilogy
favourite screen adaptation of a book: Is Lord of the Rings cheating? I'm not actually a big fan of the book, but oh heavens, do I love the movies.
preferred genre: Non-fiction, history mostly.
print or ebook?: I do love my Kindle. I feel guilty looking at my bookshelves these days, how rarely I actually pick up a physical book anymore.
currently reading: Four Sisters:The Lost Lives of the Romanov Grand Duchesses by Helen Rappaport
rec something: Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell! Seriously, I pimp this to everyone, and people either love it or just can't get into it. But read it, either before the upcoming BBC adaptation or after.

I can't name just one favourite, it's downright impossible. DragonLance Chronicles will always have a special place in my heart; not because of I see them as masterpieces or smth like that, but because they were the first fantasy books I ever read as a teen.
