This article deserves quoting in length because (as much as I hate to agree with The Daily Telegraph) it articulates almost every problem I have with Bob Geldof and his self-congratulatory, self-important trotting out of Band Aid and especially with his public shaming of Adele for not taking part.

My real problem is Geldof’s insistence on shaming
