The longest book you ever read...

I was reading a post in one of the books comms about the longest book people have ever read, and it got me curious. How many people have actually read War and Peace? I mean, it's held up as this immense epic that's almost a stereotype of immense, epic, 'classic' novels that no-one ever actually reads. So I'm curious as to how many people have ( Read more... )

I read it, but it was such a long time ago that I've completely forgotten what it was about. I think it used to be required reading when we were still one country. A lot of Russian literature was at that time, some at primary school level, some at secondary level and up.

Yup! I went through the same phase at roughly the same age and these were all books that my parents bought for my brother, but I was the one that read them.

Now am kinda wondering though, is War and Peace the longest book I've read? I guess it might vary from version to version, but the ebook version I have is about 100 pages shorter than the ebook of Count of Monte Christo (must go to Project Gutenberg and check!)

Now am tempted to re-read it though *sigh*
