So I've started reading David Weber's Honor Harrington books. Has anyone else read them? If so, do they get better? I'm about 80 percent of the way through the second one, The Honor of the Queen, and I'm not especially impressed. I can't help but compare them to the Miles Vorkosigan books, which are also space opera published by Baen, and so

I told Christy the other day that I actually like the sport of football. It's all the other bullshit that goes on around it: the hype, the self-promotion, all the stuff you mention, that makes me refuse to actually watch it.
