I've never attended a major league baseball playoff game. I mention this because Yankee Stadium is closing today and because I came oh so close on several occasion, like the time I had a ticket to Game Six of the '98 series (which I didn't know) and there was no Game 6

I feel heartsick, and I don't even like the Yankees. How you must feel I don't know...something like how I felt when Three Rivers was knocked down, I suppose, though the comparison is lame. Yankee Stadium is unique.

Yeah. I wish that could have worked out better for you. But then I said we should have seen a Yankees-Red Sox game.

Eh. It was fun, even if it was short. The company was good, if nothing else, and at least the thunderstorm cooled things down from "When did we catch the subway to the surface of the sun?" to "Hey, this isn't so bad." :)

I think it's sad too and I've never been there but I know the name...who doesn't? So many of those places are going away. Didn't Candlestick Park go away too? Or did it just get renamed to something much less romantic sounding?

The 'stick is still there, and has been changed back to Candlestick Park, but the Giants no longer play there. They play at PacBell Park (which I hear is gorgeous). The 49ers are still at Candlestick, though.

Pac Bell or whatever it is they're calling it now (I think Pac Bell was at least two naming rights ago) is gorgeous. And that's coming from a Dodgers fan, so...
