So. A guy jumped off the railing across from my store today, and fell one level down. We were in the shop at the time, just dealing with our usual Dec 23 craziness, when we heard a thump and a scream. That must have been really horrible to watch.

I've been in a depressive phase lately (I probably have a milder form of bipolar, fun times), and for some odd reason, hearing other people's suicide stories scares me into staying alive.

That's terrible -- obviously for the jumper, but also the shock of it for everybody around. Puts things into perspective, though.

I lost a great friend a month ago today; nothing nearly so dramatic, but I completely understand (and agree with!) the reminder of the importance of everybody around us.

Wow, that's a sad story. And very traumatic for those involved. Take care of yourself, darling. That can be quite startling.
