Funnily, I collected stamps and postcards too, though I never actually stopped! I'm not as active any more, but I still get First Day Covers (an envelope commemorating the first day the stamps were issued, with the whole set attached) from NZ, although I recently stopped my UK ones as it was getting too expensive. I still love getting postcards too! I ask people to post them to me when I can, and I still buy some when I'm travelling too!

I never moved on to shot glasses though. ;-)

A friend of mine collects shot glasses by proxy.
She has friends bring them back from places they've been, and especially loves the ones from places she hasn't been yet.

my mom collects the tall shotglasses and thimbles (tho I think I accidentaly started that collection and she took it over) and I adore the smashed pennies. I have about 28 pennies and one quarter from star trek the experience (my preeeeecious.....) I even found a website that keeps track of where penny smashers are all over the world XD

I'm not big on collecting, 'cause I have no idea why people would want tons of Stuff just sitting around, but I had a brief phase of collecting souvenir pens, like, fifteen years ago. Just recently, I started half-assedly collecting shot glasses. I have three or four from the '09 cruise, and some my sis brought me from W&M. Right now, they still all fit on the foldy shelf in the cabinet, but I might buy/have someone make me a nice wall-hanging shelf if I amass enough.
