Like more than a few of you, I'm sure, I went with some friends to the midnight premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I last night

Maybe I need to read the book again...some of this sounds familiar and some of it doesn't. But yeah, Dobby and Hedwig. I felt like Rowling was all "Last book, I can kill whoever I like!" and started doing so with wild abandon. (Bookwise, I totally want to live in that Cornish cottage owned by Bill and Fleur. It's my life's ambition to have a cottage in Cornwall. Preferably, given recent flooding, on a hill.)

See, I know some people say that, but it really never felt that way to me. The way some of the deaths were handled could've been a little less...crammed in (Tonks and Lupin could've at least gotten killed where we could actually see it, I mean, jesus), but the book alwats made it clear to me this whole thing where was a war going on. An epic war. People are going to be dying left and right and yes, even people you know. Not just Nameless Extras no. 1-247

My favorite part is the Elder Wand fairy tale too! It was so magnificent. I actually went all, ":OOOO wow" in the theater.
I was looking forward to the Nagini-bursting-out-of-Bathilda-Bagshot scene, because I remember being freaked out by it in the book. I think the one in my head was scarier, lol.
And I absolutely love how they portrayed the Malfoys and them being trapped in their own house with the crazy that is Bellatrix.
Yeah, the part with Nagini only got scary at the very end of it when it was all HOLY FUCKING GOD SNAKE!!!1! attacking them and shit. The buildup with it was very creepy and eerie, but I feel like that might've been in part because we all remembered the book and were basically dreading what was about to happen.
Ah yes, the Malfoys. I can't wait until that pays off in part two with them being all family unit power and such. Also drunken dishevelled Lucius is love, but that might just be because I heart Jason Issacs.
