Seriously, when are people walking into this situation going to learn? Do not expect Jon Stewart to just fall back on being funny. The reason his show is so popular and well-recieved is exactly because it gives you the laughs while it makes fucking sense. That there? I've been reading reactions to this all over the Internet, and it is interesting to see the different perspectives on it. I, personally, am mostly in agreement with you. I think Jon did a great job pointing out the culpability of CNBC in general and Cramer in particular.

I also am willing to admit that (despite getting Time and Newsweek and getting email updates from The New York Times) I get the majority of my "real"/non-entertainment news from The Daily Show. He/They does/do a great job of mixing serious news with satirical humor. And I love him/them for it.

I've rewatched it at least once since it aired, and what I keep getting struck by is how it seems like Cramer just doesn't really know how to respond to him. I mean, he keeps apologizing and making excuses/explanations, but in the end he just really doesn't know what to say. I'm not sure whether this is because he had no defense for what he was called out on or he just wasn't expecting Jon Stewart to be like that - possibly a bit of both.
