Not exactly the most original thing ever, but, an exchange I thought of that I'd still like an excuse to use in something I write someday:

I don't think depression necessarily means being sad. Blah and lonely, along with everything else you listed, makes me think, yep, you're depressed. Sorry.

That kind of ennui could be coming from a lot of places, like possibly diet and sleep quality, and, yeah, it doesn't rule out depression.

If you're really worried, definitely check with someone to see if you're depressed. I agree with eponine119; you don't have to be "sad" in the conventional sense.

I think depression =/= sadness always, but I've definitely felt that listless, uninterested feeling too and just chalked it up to being "in a funk." Like ficangel said, it could because of other things, but certainly talk to someone if you're really worried about it.

ARGH YouTube. Same thing happened to me a while back -- in fact my entire account was taken away. I'm actually taking a class in internet law right now, which is really fascinating from a vidder perspective, because a lot of it comes down to (a) vids could arguably be protected under fair use, and (b) it's never be tested with an actual lawsuit because companies like to pick their battles and leave not-for-profit fans alone.

What's annoying to me is HOW MANY fanvids are on YouTube (mostly really horrible ones) and there is no consistency at all to which ones are taken down.

I actually have depression and no it does not mean sadness. It usually means more listless and emptyness then actual sadness.
