Researching for your stories is good, though. I actually did some not too long ago for Russian stuff since one of my characters is technically a Russian immigrant, and there's this one idea for an original YA novel I want to do one day which will involve a lot of research on Irish history and myths and all, since one of the important characters in it talks about his Irish history a lot.
Which I don't mind, I think learning about different cultures is interesting, but it can be time consuming. @_@

Yeah, I don't mind researching (I tend to research in such a way that some things I look up may never actually be used, it's just something I'd like to know for personal reference), but it does eat a lot of time. Especially if you can't find something you're looking for (really? No one has ever made a giant list of all the foods different species of wild animals consider poisonous? Wouldn't that be useful to, I dunno, zoologists?) X_X.
Your story sounds interesting, though! Good luck! Reminds me of a different, old book idea of mine that involves a lot of Native American mythology and references, so that involved tons of research on that.

And you can find sources where someone draws the moves to teach, maybe that would help you out too?
