The new ending for the repeat showing of Soul Eater makes me a happy SoMa fan <333333!!!!!!

I'm really hoping that if Bones bothered to make new openings and endings for the re-broadcast of the original anime of Soul Eater, that this means they're considering doing to it what they did to FMA (not now, of course, but sometime in the next year or two

I'm hoping they pull a Suzumiya and just keep right on truckin' with a new season as soon as the first season finished re-airing...

Eeeeeeh, they COULD, but you've seen the first series, right? Even though the majority of it followed the manga, there was still crucial bits they left out or skipped altogether.

And let's not forget the way the first one ended. As plausible as Maka being part-weapon is, the manga has made no hints at all to give that impression.

Well, it wouldn't be able to progress in exactly the same way as the manga did, but that's no reason to reboot the entire series altogether. It'd be an awful shame to lose the brilliance of that first season...

Hm...yeah, I guess, but even if they did, considering all the things that happened in the manga during the Arachne Arc, and a few other details (like Mifune) that never got into the anime but had significant impact on the story in the manga, they couldn't continue with it unless they did a reboot.

And even if they did continue it, what could they possibly do? They could ignore what happened at the end ("Oh, jk, Ashura isn't dead yet, and Maka isn't really part-weapon!"), but that'd come across as a weak cop-out/excuse. The only thing they'd be able to do is make up their own shit like what the first FMA anime did, and we all know how well that tends to go.

But who knows. They may surprise us ;-).
