Can't climb worth a damn

It will probably not come as any great surprise to you Marcus, but my biggest bugbear with CoC is having a character who has an awesome skill level, but still manages to fail their skill checks will alarming frequency. Maybe I just should ever try to climb anything.

Yeah, the lack of a bell-curve is a major breaker for me too. I keep looking a the supposed level of skill for characters and thinking that the straight percentile system is doing a poor job of reflecting that skill in practice. I find the same with d20 to an extent.
