Running Star Wars

So, through the Kapiti College group, I've been asked if I'd be interested in running a Star Wars campaign for a few of the younger members (Luke was keen originally, but is tied up with Exalted for the older students).

I've agreed because I had a lot of fun on the weekend with a few of the potential players (maybe it due out the Dad instinct in me

I have always wanted to do a "Seven Sabres" based on Seven Samurai. Set in the Force Unleashed era where Jedi are dying out, turn the village into a Outer Rim planet and the bandits the new Imperial Navy.

Personally, I would use Saga at 3rd level (before it is too gonzo), mostly given how poor I found WEG in play, especially over the dice pools and their portrayal of Jedi (the Jedi could barely pick up a grapefruit and couldn't anything with his lightsabre. Also the use of minis and maps is integrated.

Then again minis have become my thing of late :)

On saying that, in all fairness, I did use minis when I ran WEG for visual propr for good effect.
