"Responsibility is the dark side of freedom. It is difficult to understand that you are completely responsible for your decisions, actions, and beliefs. The impulse is to ignore it, deny your freedom, your responsibility. But that means you’re ignoring or denying your actual situation. You succeed only in deceiving yourself."

Hey :) *nods head upward*

I know I should probably neva-eva leave comments when I'm not quite awake enough however I really enjoyed this quote..because well idk..it just made me think I guess.

At first I was all "yeah, how true how true" but then I read it again and realized I disagreed with portions of it.

The portion I did agreed with is probably the most ambiguous part of all of it. And for your sake will be the sole content of this comment lol.

Responsibility is the dark side of freedomI find truth in the words however as always, as with everything in life, it is of course open to interpretation and solely contingent upon that interpretation of the particular reader; therefore, to what degree the statement rings true is based upon the moral merit of the reader ( ... )

Philosophy in English.... This one is gonna kill me. XD

Uh.. Let's see.

I really like this quote cause for me it is about all those ppl who think freedom is the right to say and do everything and anything you want. For me a person who thinks he can say shit and then deny saying it isn't free. If you say or do something AND still feel like your words and deeds are so right that you can affirm making them then you are completely free.

So for me the term "Dark side" is used to reefer to the most of the people who truly see freedom as only the right to do and not the need to be responsible for your actions. For them the responsibility does seems as something heavy and not naturally connected to freedom.
