Despite not having class until fourth period, Bel was up earlier, waiting for Isabel to come by. He'd fed the cats, made breakfast, and was now lounging on the couch, flipping through the channels on the TV until he found Enchanted reruns. Bel got up and walked over to the door. "Hey, come on in," he greeted Isabel as he opened it.

"Thanks, and thanks for doing this," she said. "I don't think I could deal with sitting on a plane for hours waiting to get there. Plus they'd want me to stay longer. How are you doing? How's Phoebe?"

"No problem," Bel said. "I'm glad I can help again."

He glanced toward the closed bedroom door. "I'm trying to convince Phoebe to go to class this morning, but I'm not having any luck so far," he said. "She just wants to hide in our room."

Bel had just returned from shimmering Isabel to Roswell when he heard the knock at the door. "Hey," he said, answering. "What's up?" Seraphim and Valkyrie materialized at his feet, mewing at Faithful.

Alanna smiled sweetly and reached over to slap Bel. Faithful ignored all the commotion and meowed his greetings to the two cats.

One of the tumbleweeds that was rolling around town chose the face-slapping incident as the time to roll on by past Bel's door. It stopped for a moment, mentally shrugged and kept going.

Bel caught the movement of the tumbleweed out of the corner of his eye. He glanced down the hall, almost expecting to see a pair of cowboys facing off. But he didn't, so he shrugged, and went back to sulking at Alanna.
