Heh, it's just one of those things where you really like a song used in a movie/commercial/tv show and you don't know who the artist is and you spend years trying to find out.

if you've still got your appstate.edu email, you can sign up for ruckus and download all sorts of awesome free and legal stuff...but you can't burn it, which kind of sucks, but if you really need to hear something

I do still have it, and I tried ruckus...but I got turned off by the fact that I couldn't burn it. That's the whole point of my operation...to burn shit to CDs, heh.

You can join teh_music and then ask "hey does anyone have the song that played in X movie at X point.." with over 5000 members SOMEONE is likely to know, and have the song, and upload it for you (like cislyn so nicely did). Next time you need one...
