But it was finally finished! She grinned at the impressive variety on the table. She was confident he'd love it all. Now all that was left was to wait.

Suddenly, he sniffed the air. Something smelled really good, and it was coming from the direction of Colette's house. Salivating slightly, Lloyd quickened his pace.
When he stepped up to the door to knock, his stomach began growling again, yearning for whatever was making that delicious smell. He knocked.

"Lloyd!" It almost seemed too good to be true, but before she could stop herself she was hugging him, all the feelings she had swelling and for the first time in a while, she felt truly happy. It was good to see her friend again.
Of course, her happiness took a backseat when she heard - well... rather felt - a grumble of impatience. "Oh, I'm sorry! You must be starving!" Really, he had walked here and the first thing she did was keep him in the doorway. Stupid Colette.
Without another word she yanked him inside and led him to the table by the hand. "I made a lot of your favorite things, so I hope you like it all!"

Then he saw the table.
Food. Lots and lots of delicious food.
He felt a trickle of saliva dribble onto his chin as he beheld the sight of the feast before him. It was as if he had died and gone to heaven.
