I remember that pic! I love the new take on it. I loved the original, too, but I really like how you've plussed out the scene - the variation in their expressions, Blossom strangling one of the eyeballs, how each individual eyeball almost feels like its own character... You get more of a sense of story in this pic than in its predecessor.
(For some strange reason I really really dig Blossom's nails. I am always baffled/impressed by artists who can place fingernails in a way that doesn't look weird or off - it's like magic to me.)
I'm kinda torn on Brick's expression though, it's a little too much rage and a little less wtf in my opinion, but when i try to correct that, he starts to look a little insane... I think in the original the story evolved after the picture was sketched, this one was done with a story already in mind (granted... Tentacle monsters would like to inform the viewer that their kind being raeptime fiends is a myth; It only applys when said tentacle monster is related to octo-squids. Them Chuthulu types are a proud race, and dont see the appeal of the female human body and - RAMBLE!)
