I'm actually more for Sena/Suzuna .../Monta. (I didn't realise how serious I was about that OT3, orz.) But then again, HiruMamo tends to surprise me with how awesome it is whenever it shows up in the manga. That bet with the Coke = AAAAH ♥♥♥

I seriously think that Eyeshield 21 is one of the best manga out there. When I was first reading it, I would start giggling in school because I would suddenly remember scenes from the manga. The art is fabulous, the story's incredible, it's really ORIGINAL, too. Its kind of sad that it only has this little fandom...
I agree with your last paragraph *completely*. It's exactly like that for me. But I guess I can understand why people don't often write fic or do much discussion, as there isn't a huge amount of plot. Eyeshield is awesome but not intricate, so it doesn't get people talking as much as other stories.
I'm serious about Kakei. He's making these 8O faces whenever Sena and Yamato charge each other, clearly VERY EXCITED. It's so cute. He pretends to be so cool, too. XD
I'm also relieved about Taka! At first it was exciting when he just made a facial expression - ANY FACIAL EXPRESSION - and now he's all smiling and adorable. It won't be that bad to have him around for the Super Team thing after all!
