I was kinda hoping someone else would post this, as it seems like I over-post musical-related stuffs, but eh...

The website is up for the Takarazuka Revue version of Pimpernel.

They have some photos of the main three, as well as show info (mostly in Japanese).

Is it just me, or are all the cast members girls? I mean, looking at the three pictures they have up...they certainly don't look like guys. *cannot comprehend this* O_o

Indeed! It's hard to make Chauvelin look bad, though... X3

...hmm.

If you go to my journal, second post down, there's a post similar to this one. But it also includes a YouTube link. Click it.

(I hesitate to post it here because it may or may not be allowed.)

The entire cast is female, though, so it won't be quite as jarring as say, a female Percy and a male Chauvelin, Or vice versa-- oh god, there's a mental image. D:

And I would tend to agree with you about Douglas Sills, but only because I have never seen nor heard another professional, musical Percy. There have been several Chauvelins and several Marguerites both on record and for viewing on YouTube. But Sills is really the only (professional!) Percy I've heard recorded*, and he is the defining role, no doubt. Every Percy will be compared to him, no matter what, and no other Percy will ever touch Sills because of his status as the 'only' Percy.

I used to have a similar issue with William Daniels' John Adams (1776). Then I listened, really listened, to Brent Spiner's version and was able to accept two, distinct takes on the character. Whereas previously I would have never even imagined anyone but Daniels in the role. It did take hearing another prefessionally-recorded version to get to this point, however.

LOLZ, if it helps, I'm the same way. With thinking that Douglas is Percy and Percy is Douglas. That man is amazing...
