It was nice to read Gerritsen's attitude toward the fanfic. It's cool when the writers see it for what it is and don't get all bitchy about it.

I am late on replying to this thread, but I am glad to know that I am not the only one still stubbornly clinging to this fandom. It worries me that so few people are writing in it, and what little writing there is seems to suck majorly, probably because it's being written by people who never saw the show and lack a true feel for the characters. But I am glad there's still a little "core" of us old hangers-on.

Stubbornly clinging is right! The charity idea didn't quite out the way I wanted it to, but I still write the occasional fic, there's still Women's Murder Club day wmcday, @wmcday1 on Twitter, and currently we're doing a campaign to get DVDs released.
