A few random facts:It is a midwestern state, located north of Nebraska and east of Montana and Wyoming. It is also, coincidentally, the site of Mount Rushmore. (yes, the irony rather burns) The population is around 775,000 people. It is a predominantly white state with a predominantly Republican base

The idea that a pregnant woman would be literally trapped where she couldn't get any help, where she would be forced to have a baby she didn't want, where she'd be...

But that will never happen! Just look at all those states with parental consent laws where no teenagers have sex anymore!

And SD seemed like a fairly nice state when I drove across it in 2004. No one gave me any grief about my bumper stickers, and the national parks are gorgeous. Plus it's got the Corn Palace, which is funny.

This is fucking scary.

A woman can be forced to carry a child to term, regardless of her financial situation, regardless of her age, regardless of the health problems she may face, regardless of whether or not anyone will help her, regardless of whether or not she has health insurance, regardless of whether or not she wants to keep the fetus or even wanted to have sex.
