"Why are you stressed?"

Feb 23, 2009 18:45

I just happened to let my mom into my head a little bit today after having her read the symptoms of Raynaud's Disease. She asked me if I was stressed and I responded with, "I'm always stressed." So then she had to ask me for 5 minutes as to why I was stressed. I kept saying, "I don't know", because I just didn't want to talk about it ( Read more... )

I get what you're saying that sometimes parents don't want to understand. I actually thought about that today. lol It's so much easier to think it's nothing serious, than to take in that maybe your child needs real help and it can't simply be fixed by saying, "Don't do that, it's bad." As if we're 3 years old and we're putting dirt into our mouths. >.< Meaning they are taking on the idea that we just don't know any better. But WE DO know better, and it doesn't stop us. Therein lies the problem ( ... )

Yeah, it's funny your mom has no idea you're a lesbian and my mother constantly tries to convince me I'm a lesbian. I mean.... she's 1/2 right I suppose.

. But WE DO know better, and it doesn't stop us. Therein lies the problem.

God this is so true. Currently, I'm having some anxieties about my ovaries because my OBGYN isn't picking up on my problems and is just like "Oh here, take birth control" and isn't addressing it further and I'm trying to tell my mom SOMETHING IS WRONG but she thinks I don't know any better and I'm just overreacting but.... w/e w/e.

And like one day when she flipped out on me for taking NyQuil to go to sleep. I know how to take harder drugs, mother. And if you're going to be all insane just about me taking NyQuil and ignore everything else I do every other day of my life then good lucking finding out of my underlying love of weed.

W/e.

Sometimes friends > parents. So I prefer talking to friends.

I'm sorry your mom isn't listening to you're worries. =( But I hope the birth control helps out with the problem, and if it doesn't and something goes askew again, at least this time the doctors will look into other things. =\ Or if you truly feel there's more to it, just keep bugging your mom about it and maybe she'll get annoyed enough to take you back the doctor. =P lol

lol, my mom would have the same reaction if I took something like NyQuil to sleep, when I'm not sick. Sigh. Parents. They only wanna see the simple mistakes.

And I agree about friends being better than parents. I'll usually only talk to people who I KNOW understand my problems. Either because they just happen to be understanding in general or they've been in my position before. It's just so much less stressful. -__-
