Everyone comes to Yusuf. The best in the business, he makes up for the damage with his after-care: comfortable beds, needles, machines full of dreams for people who can no longer make their own.
They tell him natural dreaming is a small thing to lose to be tourists of the impossible, architects of desire. They thank him for his care. Yusuf assures them it's no bother, and tweaks each mix to their perfect personal preference.
The loss isn't inevitable, of course. But how else is he supposed to get people to stay? One little lie hurts no-one. He makes sure.

Thank you. The Yusuf fics I've read have made him... often cuddly and, if not then, at least, always good-intentioned. It's wonderful to see another take, particularly one so sparsely sharp.
