Record heat in Portland today meant that Becca and I spent too many hours in air conditioned Target today where we purchased a magnificent "Hawaiian Breeze"-aka a rotating vertical fan for all our cooling needs. We also bought Lola a wonderful pink ballerina outfit-( much to her dismay )

I bought two absolutely beautiful skeins of Misti Alpaca laceweight yarn to make Knitty's Branching Out with-an intricate leaf lace scarf-and I have now officially started it four times and torn back to the beginning four times. my computer was stolen from my living room on monday night-
becca and i went to the laundry room for literally 5 or 10 minutes
and left our apartment door unlocked. when we came back my laptop
and her cell phone were gone.

the police were called. it was dramatic.
