[there are way too many things to react to in that split second, but as Link scoots over to look down at the 'gear and sees Leon on the screen-- hey, he sees that look!-- he ultimately decides that maybe the random talking person on the screen is probably the least strangest thing going on here. he's got a charm that does the same thing, after all.]

[so he nods down at Leon, his eyebrows squaring and his mouth settling in a determined line. right, rock! Link will need to test this for himself. enjoy watching as he scoots toward the Bonsly on his stomach, then slowly-- sloooowwwly-- raps on the tree with his knuckles.]

It's called a Bonsly, unless I'm remembering wrong. [ He can't quite recall when things like 'light screen' and 'Tentacruel' became important terms to learn. The knowledge had snuck up on him, and he woke up one day and found he could recite all of Skarmory's attacks and the levels she'd learned them at. ] It's your pokémon.

[Link sort of looks at Leon as if he has three heads for a moment-- but then, after a fairly perplexed pause, he just shrugs, and tips his head in a silent and polite thanks. any information is enough information for him to work with!]

[if this "Bonsly" is his now, he's going to have to figure out a way to carry it around-- but Link is only in the vague direction of the right track when he stands up and tries to heft the poor pokémon on his back. it's not really that heavy, but Link is a pretty small kid.]

[Link... silently lifts both of his hands to the sides of his head. pinches the air a few inches from his ears, eyes still wide. how does Sora get his hair to spike like that?? Link's always wanted to try spiking his hair, but Grandma kept telling him that the ChuChu jelly is for medicinal purposes only.]

Bonsly, the Bonsai Pokemon. Bonsly is the pre-evolved form of Sudowoodo. Although it looks like a Grass Pokémon, it is actually a Rock-type. When it collects too much moisture, it produces fake tears to get rid of it.
