*lets out a deep breath* Thank you so much :D I was so worried about not being able to produce something that would work, pretty much all of the SG fic I've read recently has blown me away and just hmm.
Thank you very much.
BTW, I have your fic open in a tab (as with all the others that have been posted so far) but I'm writing a fic for another ficathon at the moment and getting ready to go to Italy for 3 weeks, so I'm not going to be able to read them for ages. I still can't wait though :)
That was so cool! I absolutely loved the setting - it's something we never got to see in the show - and the mystical side to the ritual made me shiver. I never would have thought up something like this just from looking at that drawing. Thank you very much!
I promise that it involves no drugs, dancing or dead animals. has to be the best disclaimer for alien rituals ever.
Phew, I'm so pleased that you like it :) It's shame that out of all the planets SG-1 went to they never ended up on one that had sprung up from a South American culture, there are so many cool ones to explore!
I've had that picture open in Firefox ever since I first got sent through the request and a lot of staring had to be done. I'd left it open whilst reading 'The Piano Tuner' and got a jungle stuck in my head.
Oh I completely agree! My anthropology professor did his grad work in Ecuador, so we focused a lot on native South American cultures in that class. It was quite enjoyable and very eye-opening.
I feel that I may have slightly short-changed people with lack of proper research into South American culture that I reference to in this fic. If anything is too wrong I'm going to pass it off with the fact they have been on the planet for a very long time ;)
I sometimes really think that I should be doing history instead of engineering though, it's so so interesting.
Um, maybe. It was very tough to write this, but that may have just been because I hadn't written for the fandom for so long. I would certainly like to, I may hold out until I see another ficathon I think I have the time to do :D
It really has been seven years, I even took a break from watching the show (due to a really bad TV signal at Uni and being rubbish with torrents), watched all of the last three seasons as quickly as possible and then watched the last half of the last season as it happened. Wondered what I'd missed out on in fandom, started re-watching the series, and I ended up with fic :D
Ooh, this is fantastic. *loves and adds to memories* Very nice imagery and the S/J relationship is written beautifully. I love that its nice and shippy but could still fit in with S4.
*big smile* Thank you very much. I was trying so hard to write as if I didn't know what was going to happen in their future (until the very end of course) as they wouldn't have known at the time (doh) and I'm glad it seems to fit in ok :D
