GARGH!  Flashforward is gone forever and there are SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS!!!  Curse you, ABC for cancelling this show!!!!  It seems the only shows I truly adore that come out of America are cancelled.

I don't understand not starting at the beginning. I just don't.

Also, S1 Buffy is shorter & should be cheaper, so maybe you can actually afford both S1 & S2. ;)

True, but I should have said, I want to get through the series fairly quickly and with minimun buys (lol) and I know most of the plot.

I've watched an episode of S3 and was thinking of starting with that... But you're right, starting from the beginning is good!

I am so upset about FlashForward! If a show had to be cancelled, all my bets have been on V. But V is renewed and FF is cancelled? Why???? They had such an amazing cast and so much more to tell!

I knoooow! And V's not doing so well here. Not nearly as well as Flashforward did. *sulk*

Argh too many loose plots! At first I didn't see how a second season would work, but then they laid all these awesome plot hints out, like the end of the world thing, and I was so looking forward to the next season!

And it was cancelled.

Honestly, I find S1 to be very subpar. Maybe watch the pilot online and then skip to S2? S2 is amazing. So many characters are introduced and so much of the mythology of the entire series has its roots in Season 2. Its a must watch. But Season 1 is really meh to me.

Yeah I've heard that about S1. But S2's good, huh? Ok, I'll go with that one. I was thinking S3 cos of Faith (I love her already), but S2 sounds good :D

DUDE, S2 IS AMAZING. IT INTRODUCES SPIKE. AND ALL OF THE EPIC ANGEL/BUFFY BACKSTORY. AND OZ/WILLOW. AND JUST SOOO MUCH AWESOME. I CAN'T EVEN COHERENTLY DESCRIBE IT.

My condolences on Flash Forward. I never did watched, only because there were a lot of mixed reviews. Even in spite of the blatant attempts to pull in the LOST audience, ABC just couldn't get enough of excitement about the show.

If you like Studio 60, have you tried The West Wing? It's my favorite Sorkin show.

I said first season, but this is the advice I give to anyone starting BtVS:

While the first season of the show isn't by any means bad, it isn't the standard we grew accustomed to from BtVS. They had almost no money and weren't sure how much of a story arc they could get into since they were only cleared for 12 episodes. Therefore, I recommend watching only a few S1 episodes: the series premiere (Welcome to the Hellmouth and The Harvest), the pretty decent character episode (1.07 - Angel and the season finale (1.12 - Prophecy Girl). That's only four episodes total, so you should be able to find them online somewhere

It was pretty huge in England. Then came the STUPID HIATUS, which we awesome British people don't have, aren't used to, and mostly don't know what it is. So that really put people off, they got confused and lost interest. Plus I was psyched about it, but Five (the channel it was on) didn't advertise the restart at all, so I missed 2 episodes!!

I would, but I have about a million shows to watch atm, and hardly any money, and a download limit.

I think I'm sold on second season. Everyone seems to love it. But first season is half price, so maybe I'll get both?

If you don't want to start from the beginning, I'd say s2. It's really great, and it was my first season. I came in at the end, my first ever episode was "I Only Have Eyes For You". I just wanted to see something with Alyson Hannigan back then, having seen her in American Pie and wanting to see something else. I ended up getting hooked, haha. :D (Back then I got it recorded for me, didn't have that channel then. But I bought the DVD's as soon as all the recording was done. My first ever tv-show on DVD! :D)

Anyway, whatever you chooses to do, I'm sure you'll be happy. It's all Buffy after all! *grins*
