At least for a good number of people, light can disrupt sleep. You will have a more complete sleep when all lights are off because your eyes can relax, and a bunch of sleep phases can happen more smoothly :D. For Susu though, because he's scared of the dark (or more like of something else that happens when the night comes), he always has the light on when he's asleep. But that way he has nightmares too :D. Hope it's not too confusing.
