The WWI photographs are really fascinating. I'd seen that sort of super-pixilated color process in the past, with the odd dots, but I never knew it contained starch.

The flow chart is hilarious.

I like the one that ends in "Sounds sketchy. You might want to rethink this." lol

You find the most interesting stuff! The WWI pics were really interesting, I didn't expect them to be so... well colorful. I guess I thought they'd be more faded and washed out, some of them were quite vivid, and the colors seemed true.

Got a good chuckle at the flow chart, but best of all was the video, having just spent months watching airfares and looking for the best prices I could really appreciate the feeling behind it. LOL!

I really wanted to sign up for the sshg fest, but I just don't think I'll have time this year. I'm really trying to work on finishing at least a one-shot for the LBB, (I may be looking for a quick beta... hint, hint, beg, and looks at you with huge puppy dog eyes) and then I'll be traveling for four weeks during the writing time of the sshg fest. I'm looking forward to reading lots of new SS/HG fics though, and hope if the fest continues next year I'll get a chance to do it then. :)

The photographic process is actually quite interesting; the Wikipedia article goes into a lot of detail, apparently some of the bits of color-filtering stuff end up staying on the actual print, which is part of what gives is that translucent look. Fascinating.

Sorry you can't join us for the first edition of sshg_giftfest, but if it goes well then yes, perhaps next year!

I hope your flights are a nice balance between breaking the bank and having to pay to use the stairs to disembark :)

Fascinating Aida are superb, the Ryanair song is hysterical, but they do up to the minute stuff in their shows. The starch photos were so interesting, the colours have lasted very well.

I'm so glad to find out who this group is, thank you!! I had tried some desultory googling with no luck. Now I can find lots more of them :)

Not all (most!) of it is stuff you might not want to explain to one's 10 year old/ mother . (Delete as appropriate) I've got one of their CDs around, but can't listen to it in the car as I am usually being the taxi!Mama.

My mother is on the opposite coast and I have no kids, so I guess I'm free to plunge in with abandon!
