Right. We did do some of the touristy circuits and walked The Mall and looked at buildings and all that stuff. Washington, DC is ... hyperbolic. There's no other word for it. Everything is just ridiculously massive and overwrought, and there's always a statue. Everytime I looked up and asked, "who's that?", Jeff would reply, "some dead white guy

Possibly the great drawback to being in one of those place you just have to visit. You know what I mean. It was mostly "oh. meh. ok. seen it, let's go." It was also bloody hot while we were there; we're not big on nationalism/patriotism and whitewashed history either, so it was just doing it for the sake of having seen it.
