There is nothing exceptional about this dimly-lit back alley at all.

Miss Oliva draws a breath when she sees the hunched figure. She's had dealings with the cops before, but there have been somewhat unusual things said of this particular person. That is the point, after all; still, she hesitates a moment before stepping into a lighter patch of shadow. She's not as young as she was, and she has no talent for violence.

The raven confounds her for a moment. Miss Oliva is not fond of birds.

Miss Oliva blinks. Well, that is- refreshingly direct.

"Wouldn't call it a crime, good sir; a picayune shecoonery, perhaps. You are Signor Salvador, am I correct?"

She attempts to ignore the raven's beady stare.

Del's been wandering the rooftops again, whispering secrets and nonsense lullabies (nursery rhymes, old sayings--snatches of a song she only half remembers) to the cats that seem to spring fully formed from the shadows down here.

The city is quiet today, but there's something happening in the alleyway below, and she has to look--much like the animals she favours, she's always been too curious for her own good.

Saryu notices that she's been running an awful lot lately.
Then again, she's also been taking a lot of bad jobs lately where she keeps on getting ripped off. So it's not really her fault, and they brought it on themselves when she tries to take what she's really owed. The only downfall is that she keeps on getting caught.

Luckily for her, she knows several secret alleys here and there that make perfect escape routes. She turns a sharp corner, down a small staircase and into one of the afore mentioned alleys and sticks close to the wall as she watches the shadows of the men run past.
Safe. Or so she thinks before she realizes there's someone else in the alley. Like a conditioned response, she places a finger on her lips and makes a shushing noise, hoping that whoever is there isn't the type to rat her out. Or, you know, try to rob and murder her.

Del looks curiously at the woman who has just come round the corner, out of breath and harried. She's about to ask when the woman hushes her, making the universal signal for quiet.
Del nods and folds herself into the shadows. She's been in a few tight scrapes herself recently and she's temperamentally on the side of the chased in any case. She just hopes whoever's doing the chasing will be gone soon so she can find out what this is all about.

Saryu is greatly relieved once she knows that the lady won't attract any attention to her. She takes a quick peek outside to make sure that the men have left and is satisfied to see nobody on the steet at all. But in case they suddenly turn around and investigate, Saryu decides it's best to stay low for the mean time.

Turning back to the lady in the shadows, she's already starting to wonder what the lady is doing there. In a voice that could've been a whisper, but never quite learned how to be quiet properly, she says, "Most people 'ould rat m'out. Ah'think I owe'ya."
