Ragtime

I thought we'd have plenty of time to see Ragtime, but it seems I was wrong.  It's closing this weekend.  So, even though we're leaving for Atlanta tomorrow, and usually have a Strict House Policy (with the usual Unless We Really, Really Want To rider) about not going out the day before we travel, we got TDF tix and went.

There's a big snowstorm pushing through the Midwest. It might be wreaking havoc on airline schedules for points east.

It's been years and I remember the movie better than the book. My recollection is that Houdini was used as an anchor to the flavor of the time and current events, nothing more.

There was a movie? Good heavens! Well, in this production, anyway, he was a very lightweight anchor indeed.

I've never seen the musical performed, but I remember really enjoying a few of the songs.

Good luck with the travel? What on earth is going on this winter, anyway?!

Between the attempted terrorist attack and the weather, the skies are even more unfriendly than usual. I've got a pretty zen attitude towards travel madness, and I'm getting crabby.

My reaction exactly when I saw the show years ago, including the part about the bland. Too earnest for its own good.
