The Hour of the Wolf

Dec 01, 2006 18:11

Just in case any of you suffers from wee hour insomnia, tomorrow morning, I'm going to rise a lot more betimes than I usually do (like, 3:30am) and hie me to WBAI and be interviewed by Jim Freund on Hour of the Wolf. I shall read from CHANGELING and attempt to answer whatever questions he cares to put to me with what brain I can muster at 5 am.

Ellen's (archived) interview is too cute.

I can't wait until yours is up!

Jim gave me a CD of mine, but I'm afraid to listen. I loathe the sound of my taped voice. Even Ellen, who has a beautiful radio voice, says it took her years (and a squadrillion hearings while editing her own material) to get used to how she sounded.

We haven't listened to hers, either. I should give it a listen.

I like listening to you read so much :)

And yes --- it is so hard to listen to oneself;
you never sound right. Does Ellen's radio voice
sound like Ellen to you?

Dear Ms. Sherman,
I am so glad that I listened to the show this morning. You were articulate and amusing, and I was utterly charmed by your reading. You deserved a better interviewer.
Best,
Allyson (just one of your many fans)

Wow. Thank you. Given the hour, I'm surprised I could talk at all. I certainly can't remember a word I said. I'm glad you liked it.
