I have a small sitch. Lee got me a computer for Christmas and it ended up not being the one that they sent me. Well, it was almost the same, except for the video card. You're pretty much correct. Back in the day, name branding for computers was more of an issue, but these days the only thing you're really looking at with branding is support (if you don't change your hardware any) and bundling of extra software you didn't need or want. :D As long as Home Depot has some sort of return policy so you can deal with them if it turns out to be an absolute lemon, you shouldn't worry about brand/company. If it works, it works, and it looks to have decent hardware.

Okay, thanks. Decent hardware? But it's better hardware than the machine I have right now, right? (Aside from not knowing the video card, it's got a faster processor from what I can tell and more memory and storage.) I am hopeful that the video card can be upgraded regardless.

And yes, Home Depot does have return policies in place and have offered us a full refund on the machine we have now.

Another nice point about non-branded systems is that they're generally very easy on hardware upgrades. Just make sure you buy the right kind of video card for the slot(s) you have open in your case. :)
