I'm knitting again!
I love the smell of fall. It's gotten me to pick up my purple blob of a sweater again.
I'm starting to get excited about the trip this weekend, and that's got me thinking. I should made long wool opera gloves with flames down them... yes I think this must be done! -

Burdock!
Over the last couple days the guy and I have been at the burdock gathering in Starks, Maine. I've never has so much fun camping and I am very disappointed I could not stay till the very end.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABBY (and Bastil Day)
Today is Abby's 13th birthday. As far as I'm concerned she still a puppy, and in VERY good health for her age. Only real sign of her age is the gray at the tips of her ears. -

Summer's here
To me it's only officially summer once I get my first mosquito bites of the season. On Friday I went to an outdoor Phyforia party and realized the folly of not bringing bug spray along. Phyforia was a decent time. Music could of been a LOT better. Most importantly of all it got me to pick up my sock poi again with renewed enthusiasm.

Work Work Work
I'm really working on finding a way to get more then half a day off in a given week.... I just have trouble turning down a job opportunity, or cutting back existing hours. I don't feel like I'm burning myself out, just if I keep this up I will.
The money is VERY good right now though!

Moving
In August I will be moving for the first time to Waltham. This means I have to slowly go through all my stuff and weed out all the extra crap that I can bring myself to part with right now. So far I've recycled/thrown-away about 2 trash bags filled of old papers. Plus about another 2 trash bags fill of old clothing to be donated to good will ( Read more... ) -

I forgot to mention last Saturday I was at the NH sheep and wool festive. It was much woolly fun and I went home with fleece inserts for my clogs. I love them!! They are so cozy and I wish I had them for this last winter to keep my toes toasty like they did that day ( Read more... ) -
wine
A fellow coworker over at HOH who I have talked to about wine (or my lack of knowledge about wine) brought a book in for me today. It's called Vines, Grapes & Wine by Jancis Robinson. While reading it I'm much more drawn to her imagery about flavors, regions, and grapes then the wine itself. I'm loving it so far. Tomorrow I am going to bring in ( Read more... )
