“Did you hear that you’re pregnant?” Ethan asked his sister, his face hidden by the magazine he was reading.
“What?!” Mandy exclaimed. “I most certainly am not! Who said that?” She was shocked and appalled that anyone would spread such a rumor about her.
“Gossip says so,” Ethan replied, trying to hide the amusement in his voice.
“That’s terrible! Let me see!” she said, snatching the magazine from him. She scanned the pages quickly, becoming quite annoyed when there wasn’t anything in the magazine about her.
“Ethan! You horrible little liar!” she shouted, turning and smacking him with the magazine.
