Well, I'd sort of made the decision before, I just wasn't fully committed to it like I am now. It's really odd, I feel like my whole attitude toward writing has completely changed. It doesn't feel like a hobby I do in my spare time anymore.
In fact, I think that may be what's been blocking me this entire time. I didn't want to think of writing as work, so I hung on to the "fun hobby" mindset, even when that wasn't working for me anymore. I was thinking of "work" as synonymous with "chore." But work can be rewarding, too. I suppose this is what it feels like to actually have a career. (vs. a job, just stuff you do for a paycheck, which is how I've always felt about work.)
Vry glad to hear it. I'm getting the same vibe from my work this year - maybe it's something in the water? Seriously though, I'm on track to finish up this year (running at just over 42k right now) and then I'm guessing 20-30k more to finish the story once I'm done with Nano.

We're in an amazingly similar boat here. I'm thinking I have about that much to go beyond 50K as well.
