Ah! The great American tradition that is Superbowl. Beer drinking, festivity, restaurant closing, the bars are packed, a hushed silence of expectation descends on the land. Oh yeah and some sort of football game is played in between commercials. I love this country, and mostly for the wrong reasons.

you know, i knew that while mick really did look absolutely terrific for his age (a friend coerced me into watching about half the game-N-stuff, by virtue of i'm a nice person & unlike him i have a color tv), there was something missing.

i thought maybe it was related to how their insta-setup tongue stage looked like a rip-off of a u2 stage & what i was missing was bono & the boys, but, no, i think the feeling was tawdrier than that, and tied intimately to hype and controversy... i think you're right.

it was missing ancient-british-rocker nipple.

More than nipple, I was hoping for a brief, tasteful glimpse of his package. But alas, we were all disappointed.

okay, while i'm sure it's possible to combine the words "tasteful," "glimpse," and "package" in some circumstances, i'm really not sure i'm buying that those might involve mick jagger.

i suppose, of course, i could be wrong...

I was talking to Sharon about how old they were and stuff during the game as well. I however was not waiting for his nipple. ;)

My personal favorite of the commercials (which the news afterwards said was the expert's pick as well) was the FedEx. :) Both because it was hillarious, and because it was sooo true!
