Sinking in Emotional Mire.

Even though his brother Thanatos had heeded his call, Hypnos could not, at that time, bear to speak about the painful issue that was his wife’s current....condition.. He left the ship of ice immediately.

What had ferried such madness into her sublime mind? Was he somehow at fault?.. These questions are what drove Hypnos to attempt a reconciliation with his estranged partner..... And in tracking her, it brought him to the threshold of the Imperial couple’s Temple.

It had been many, many years since he had intermingled with either Zeus or Hera, and his demureness would not allow him to confront them now. Fortunately Pasi appeared to be alone... Perhaps he could lure her away from here to a more private locale - this being his thought as he rounded a spiraling shrubbery in the garden... He halted immediately though upon seeing the Queen of the Gods herself speaking with his wife..

Sleep tucked himself back around the concealing bush and listened intently to the conversation. Though it was never said straightforwardly....Hypnos knew precisely what Pasi meant when she “taught the Nightmare to swim”.... The news was decimating, that she would attempt to murder Phobetor. What was even more paining was that he had not been present to perhaps change the outcome of the events..

As Hera and his wife walked toward the temple, Hypnos cast his gaze downward in disappointment and confusion. He could love her through anything, he thought.. Sickness, of the physical or mental variety.. But if her sickness had turned to a maliciousness...... What then?

Hypnos again sent a call to his brother Thanatos...... this time even more desperate than the last.

pasithea, hypnos, thanatos
