Zeus had been on his way home when the thought of fresh flowers and new Blahniks for Hera had crossed his mind. After all, while he'd been off playing King of the Mountain, she'd been forced to deal most unpleasantly with Strife... among other things. And since he was enjoying his time on the mortal plane (and never one to stop commerce as it fit squarely in his realm) he thought it best to do some actual shopping there.

So, it was stepping out of Macy's on the corner of 4th and Pike in Seattle that he met with another of his offspring.

"Ah, Hercules." He lifted the fragrant spring bouquet to his face and inhaled deeply. "How good of you to join me."

"Were you apart?" Hercules asked, confused for a moment. He looked at the bag his father was carrying, taking a curious, godly peek at the contents. His brows drew together in further confusion as he threw a look of alarm at his father. He knew the old man had been traumatized and all that, but cross-dressing? Zeus took a moment to squint at his son through the tops of the flowers in his hand. He took another moment to process the long, rambling string of words that had flowed from Herc's mouth and then nodded.

"Ares will return to his proper form when he had decided that his loyalty is where it needs to be."

With that, he resumed his ambling walk down Fourth Avenue. "Also, perhaps you could speak to Aphrodite on your own?" He grinned and stopped. "Hebe does make an adorable guy. And its not like you haven't- you know." He shrugged. Winked. "Like I said, Ares is well aware of what he must to do regain his former form."

"Um. So when Ares..." Herc seemed to be thinking hard. "Figures out who he wants to be loyal to?" He scratched his neck. That couldn't be right, could it?

"And. Um. No. Cause last time I tried that it got into a big mess cause, um. Dite?" Herc looked around carefully to be sure no one was too close, and whispered to his father. "Such a bitch. And hates both our guts, cause Ares likes Hebe better."
