Lethe was in her home, finally safe there. She'd been away too long. Well it seemed too long. She'd kept herself away from everyone for a long time as well. Retiring mostly to the mortal plane. She did not need people. Gods at least. Not people. She did not need a God or Goddess ( Read more... )

Phlegethon decided to head off and find some of his siblings. Though he wasn't sure which one he'd come across. So the first person he tried was Lethe.

Maybe she's home

Walking quietly into his sister's home, his orange red glow filled her home. He walked further in and found her laying upon the white marble floor. "You don't look too comfortable."

"They have reasons to think otherwise, Lethe. I'm fire. Not everyone likes the fact of what I can do."

They don't like that it wouldn't be hard for me to burn them alive

The moan should've bothered him but it didn't. Maybe because this was his sister. Maybe that was why the moan didn't bother him. He kept caressing her cheek. Wanting his sister to be comfortable and warm. Wanting her to feel love and wanted.

"I'm oblivion. I make people forget everything. They don't exactly like me either.." She bit her lip, curling more into his touch. As she turned her head her lips brushed to his hand, cold lips. Ice cold.

Was that how Oblivion felt? Cold and dead?

He gave a slight nod. He knew what she could do. They'd done it to a few people when they'd gone out before. So, yeah, he knew exactly what she could do.

Your cold

And he had never noticed how cold she was before. Never in his life had he noticed how cold she was compared to how warm he was. He takes his thumb running it acrossed her lips. More in a way to warm her up than anything else. Was she that cold always?

Lethe pressed her lips to his thumb, while from the corner of her eyes she watched his eyes. She was always cold. No matter how much heat he'd try to bestow her. Her lips would always be like ice. Refreshing and yet shocking too.

Those dark brown eyes didn't seem all too happy. Especially since to him he couldn't keep her warm and yet he was fire. He should've been able to.

Maybe I'm losing my touch...

Yeah, that had to be the reason why he couldn't keep her warm. He was losing his touch. He bestowed more heat upon them. Making the room much warmer, making them much warmer.

Why haven't I noticed this before?

Lethe smiled a little against his hand. "No warmth will ever live in my lips Brother. Don't strain yourself." She felt warm all over though. Sweat beaded on her brow.

He watched her a moment a slight sigh escaping his own lips. He licked his lips slightly and kept watch over her.

"I don't think I ever realized just how cold you were. Even though I've been around you and such I don't think I've ever noticed it."

"I'm easy to forget.." She admitted. "Easily unnoticed.." She shrugged a little. Sadly. it was true. Not many noticed much of anything about her. They SAW her sure. But those little things? the glimpse of silver in her eyes, the cold that encased her lips.

No.. No one saw.

He pulled her closer to him and stared at her good and hard. His lips were close to hers but there was fire in those brown eyes.

"Don't say that. You are NOT easy to forget, Lethe. And I'll not have you telling me otherwise."

"I am oblivion, I am forgotten more times then you've been known Phlegethon." She spoke firmly. With a power she rarely showed. She stared at him. They were so close. Too close. Stay away from my lips. She whispered in her head.

"I don't care if your Hades himself, Lethe. I will not have you tell me otherwise." Those lips didn't move closer but they didn't move away either.

His dark firey eyes stared into his sister's eyes. He'd meant what he said and heat went into those words.

Lethe stared right back at him. He was holding her so tight, if she were a mortal it might hurt. She just stared at him, with dead eyes that seemed to edge closer and closer to the silver in her river.

"I can say what I like."

Those lips got closer. And he stared at his sister, his eyes almost engulfed in flames.

"Maybe around everyone else but I will not lay here and listen to my sister say stuff like that. For she is not easily forgotten."

"Want to bet?" She almost dared him, running her tongue along her lower lip. She could make him forget her in the blink of an eye, if she dared.

Inside though.. she was screaming. No, no don't do that. Don't let your emotions rule you. Stop it!
