And yay for RBB and spn_cinema and mini writing challenges... I do an annual writing thing called 12mowrimo and we pledge every month to a daily target, it's really useful for kicking my lazy arse into gear.

Ahh, I tried one writing challenge with a monthly pledge, but I couldn't keep my momentum up and kept skipping. *shame* (sorry, tsuki_no_bara!!) I think I need the more urgent daily threat encouragement. :)

I am so so excited to see you splashing around in fandom again! I missed you terribly this past summer. And what could be better than my favorite person signing up to write things and singing things that I do not recognize and thus reminding me that, although I am older, I am not yet old. :P

This summer was really brutal, more than I talked about on here. But now I've bounced back a bit, and also got a number of work-related projects crossed off just this week (in and amongst the important task of vidding, ha), so October is definitely looking better for finding fannish time. I'm keeping fingers crossed.

So as far as I understand it, I think you CAN include work writing (if that's helpful to you), so I say go for it!! Have you ever thought of trying your hand at a bit of fanfiction? I'd never attempted even a single word of creative writing before discovering LJ, and look at me now! :D

A number of years ago, I was in the literary fiction program here, but I was working full-time plus and it was just too much. Now, when I get ideas for something, I realize it's from something I've read. I'm pretty sure my brain is broken and I'm incapable of original thought anymore. Plus, if I took the time to write, it would cut down on my reading and I'm already stupidly behind.

Although, I did tell you I'd learn to vid. See what a big, fat liar I am?

I empathize with the failed challenges. I too have promised myself to write more. it's part of me and I miss it and I miss fangirls and LJ. So I decided that all things fannish must move up the priority list a bit.

I too am doing mini-nano. It would be awesome to have a mini-nano writing loop.

What movie did you choose for 80's. I took Weird Science. :)

I have to admit, I'm pretty used to setting goals and meeting them, hell or high water, and so this year has been a particularly depressing one to me for all the fannish projects I signed up for and then failed to finish. I got to the point where I had to tell myself that I would not be allowed to sign up for any other fun things the rest of this year if I didn't finish this vid before the new season. I felt like I needed to accomplish ONE POSITIVE THING, or else give up. /o\ But man, that was a motivator, and so it got done, and so I'm feeling more like I can allow myself to play again.

I'm not sure I want to sign up for a loop, just because I know during Big Bang times they take me so much time just reading all the emails, lol!! But I'm happy to support here on LJ. Maybe daily posting of snippets or something?

And for the 80s challenge, I'm going to try to do Field of Dreams. I can't wait to see what you do with Weird Science!! It's one of my favorites! :D
