We're heading north this morning to try to get to the cottage in time for the local Independence Day parade. They throw candy from the floats and cars. (Other people's) children dash nearly under the tires in life-threatening feats of daring-do. It's a spectacle

Ha! I know exactly what you're talking about. Our little town has an Old Timers' Day every second Saturday in August and that happens. have a great weekend!

Ooo, that sounds like such fun! I think there is a "Family Parade" in one of the neighborhoods. Might go to that; the kids decorate wagons and the babies have their strollers all decked out. It's very cute.

On the other hand, It's the first Independence Day for the kittiez. Might get some sparklers and those things that pop when you throw them on the ground and see if they get freaked out. Bad kitty mama, bad kitty mama!
